DOWNFALL OF MY BIG MAN FRIEND

He was paying N9,000,000 yearly for 3 bedroom flat in Maitama, Abuja. It was later increased to 10M and he was paying. No savings. No investment. He's working. He believed and depended on his salary. It will surely be coming.

His argument:

"When you live in the neighborhood of big men, you will behave like big men. You roll with big men. Packaging. You network".

His junior colleagues went to the developing areas like Lugbe, FO1 Kubwa, Ushafa and bought lands in the selling estates there.

They used their salary and built to their satisfaction, the kind of house they needed. They also rented the boys quarters and build other commercial houses they rented out.

This man in Maitama was making mockery of those friends of his for living in the outskirts of the city.

He said they live in the village and shouldn't claim they are in Abuja. He always argued that living in the neighborhood of the rich makes you have respect, you network.

Fast forward to the second tenure of Bubu, something happened. The man was sacked.

Remember, for the past 10 years, he has been paying rent between 9M to 10M in Maitama when all his mates became landlords.

His rent is expiring next month, no money to renew it or even get another one.

He told one of his friends — those he laughed at for staying in the village to give him a flat from his house. He sent him the number of the property lawyer.

"Excuse me. You are my friend. You should give me this for free. You know what I am passing through".

His friend replied him:

"Building materials didn't come to me for free. The land I bought wasn't for free. Please, my house has been handed over to a lawyer.

If you need it, call him, he will tell you the price. There are others who need it. I can only convince my lawyer to give it to you because we are friends. So, if you are serious about it, you let me know".

He paused, they paused; both of them paused.

This is not fiction. I know those involved.

Over 10 years of living in the neighborhood of the rich, ọga is still poor.

Think and plan your life. Where you live doesn't matter. What matters is you and the value you create.

Stay in the forest, the world will find you.

DONT CHASE OTHER PEOPLE'S DREAM

 

 

Don’t feel disappointed when you see people ahead of you. Start enjoying where you are; you will never feel left behind.

In the journey of life, we all are walking at our own pace. We often look at those walking ahead and feel we have not achieved much in life. When we don’t see worth in what we already have or where we are, we chase other people’s dreams only to end up where they wanted to be. In the end, we find nothing but disappointment.

Appreciate what you have and where you are in your life. Make an effort to achieve your goals but don’t feel disappointed if you are slow. It truly doesn’t matter where you are in life; your journey is successful as long as you are happy.

 

BORN TO SAVE THE WORLD OR DESTROY IT?

During the Second World War, (a soldier) obtained a leave allowing him to return to his home, and as soon as he reached the street near his house, he saw a parked military truck loaded with corpses and knew that the enemy had bombed his city.
The truck was carrying dozens of dead bodies and was preparing to transport them to a mass grave.
The soldier stood in front of the piled-up corpses to take his last look at them and noticed that a shoe on a (woman's) foot looked like a shoe he had previously bought for his wife.
He went to his house in a hurry to check on her, but he quickly retreated and went back to the truck again to check the body and found his wife!!
After his shock, the soldier did not want his wife to be buried in a mass grave, so he asked to be pulled from the truck in preparation for a proper burial.
During the transfer, it was found that she was still breathing slowly and with difficulty, so he carried her to the hospital, where the necessary first aid was given to her and she regained life again!!
Years after this incident and the end of the war, the wife who was almost buried alive became pregnant and gave birth to a boy named "Vladimir Putin".
He is the current President of Russia!

GRACE FOUND HIM

Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was only a few meters from the finish line, but got confused with the signs and stopped, thinking he had finished the race. A Spanish man, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him and, realizing what was going on started shouting to the Kenyan to keep running. Mutai did not know Spanish and did not understand. Realizing what was going on, Ivan Fernandez pushed Mutai to victory. A reporter asked Ivan, "Why did you do this?" Ivan replied

My dream is that one day we can have some sort of community life where we push ourselves and help each other win." The reporter insisted "But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win. The race was his."

The reporter insisted and asked again, "But you could have won!" Ivan looked at him and replied: "But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor of this medal? What would my Mother think of it?"

What values do we teach our children and how much do you inspire others to earn? Most of us take advantage of people's weaknesses instead of helping to strengthen them.

I hope you learn from this story. Most times winning the medal is not the ultimate price.
